The advancement and broad dissemination of knowledge are founding principles of the Johns Hopkins University Press. Publishing Gold OA articles in hybrid journals. Once an article has been accepted for publication in a hybrid journal, the author is given the option to make the article Gold OA. Also known as self-archiving, when you post an earlier version of your manuscript in repositories and online. Embargo: Not usually required. Hybrid (gold) open access In this variant of gold open access authors publish in traditional subscription journals, but may offer gold open access to their articles by paying APCs.

“Gold Open Access” is the term used to describe Open Access publication through the payment of an Article Processing Charge (APC).
